Chinese add to investments in Melbourne land


The push by Chinese developers into Melbourne’s new fringe suburbs is gathering pace – a group of investors has paid about $11 million for a 10-hectare site in Cranbourne in the city’s south-east.

The site at 1405 Ballarto Road, which forms part of the recently approved new Melbourne suburb of Casey Fields, was acquired from a local family by Chinese-backed Alvina Development and allows for the development of up to 165 residential lots and a neighbourhood shopping centre.
